Smile Corporation is proud to offer written orthopaedic/orthodontic treatment plans provided by a certified specialist orthodontist. Designed to raise the standard of orthodontic care for you and your patients by providing treatment planning, sequencing and execution based on a thorough initial evaluation. Diagnosis and treatment of patients with skeletal malocclusions orthopaedically rather than the traditional orthodontic approach of extracting teeth and then straightening them to camouflage the underlying skeletal problems. Dr Livier Carreon-Truitt DDS has had extensive training in maxillofacial orthopaedics, advanced orthodontic mechanics, TMD therapy and was exclusively mentored by the late, world-renowned lecturer and educator Dr John “Skip” Truitt. Treatment plans that offer a complete understanding of the Temporomandibular joint function, ideal position and any possible associated TMD. All treatment plans are completely supported by Smile Corporation and we offer unrivalled support and treatment guidance.

The doctor should provide the following:

• Evaluation of the Bimler Elite Cephalometric Tracing in full colour
• Evaluation of the Schwarz-Korkhaus Elite Model (analysis -models can be provided in analogue or digital format)
• Evaluation/Interpretation of all additional x-rays, including views of the TMJs if provided.
• Full written treatment plan including comprehensive step by step instructions for activation of any orthopaedic appliances as/if required. This will be followed by step-by-step mechanics involved in the treatment, including ligation and arch wire sequencing finishing with final retention protocol for the patient.
• An Rx for any appliances required in the treatment plan with an explanation for their adjustment.
• Estimated time of treatment.
• Using clear aligners to finish for patients who do not want to have fixed wire.

Bimler Cephalometric Tracing

To truly understand your patients problem prior to therapy, it is imperative to have a good working knowledge of Cephalometrics. We offer a full Cephalometric tracing service using the latest Bimler tracing methodology.

In the United States, the concept of using statistical norms in the evaluation of the occlusion of teeth was introduced in the early 1900’s. Shortly after the Second World War, Dr. Hans Peter Bimler of Germany began to work on a cephalometric analysis that differed from that of the normative type, he collected an enormous amount of material to substantiate his findings.

His analysis deals not only with the relationships in the facial profile, but its greatest merit comes from the study of basic skeletal structures. Dr. Bimler went to anthropology to seek the answers for many problems that could not be solved by normative data. Anthropology records facts and relates various portions of the skeleton, but it does not diagnose. However, there is a vast amount of information available from anthropology for use in relating the components of the skull and how these components affect the human dentition.

The Bimler Cephalometric Analysis is based on headplate drawings that incorporate a greater number of anatomical features. In this technique, patients are not compared with statistical norms. They are studied with regard to the relationship of their individual morphological and functional components.

The new Bimler Elite analysis makes interpretation of the Cephalometric radiograph simple and extremely accurate. This advanced computer tracing incorporates the Bimler analysis with the best of the Sassouni analysis as well as a very useful evaluation of the soft tissue profile and the adenoidal tissue impingement.
