A denture and a mouth check-up is recommended at least every two years. Due to a natural change of the gums which occurs with aging, the denture can easily lose its right alignment causing chronic irritation, jaw dysfunction and in some cases severe alteration of the soft tissue of the mouth.

It is recommended to have a new denture at least every five years or earlier if the denture shows excessive wear, or if it's poorly-fitting, or when the facial features are lacking support.
